заблудившийся

старый уставший клоун
с блёстками на бороде.
Странник и странный прохожий
с выжженным солнцем
в сердце.
Иду, на себя не похожий
стуча каблуками скерцо.
Мои бубенцы и свирели —
в траве саламандры бег,
не громче весенней капели,
не ярче, чем талый снег...
Мои шаги к дому — подобью
заброшенных птицами гнёзд,
где пастель — пеленальник
причудливо-детских грёз,
где стол... а с него
глядит в окно
сиротливое горло
ВДОВЫ КЛИКО.

Clown

I am a relic of an era,
lost
in tomorrow,
an old tired clown
with glitter on my beard.
A wanderer and a strange passerby
with the sun burned out
in my heart.
I walk, unlike myself,
tapping a scherzo with my heels.
My bells and flutes –
the run of salamanders in the grass,
no louder than spring drops,
no brighter than melting snow...
My steps to the house are like
nests abandoned by birds,
where pastels are the swaddling clothes
of whimsical childhood dreams,
where the table... and from it
looks out the window
the orphaned throat
of WIDOW CLICQUOT.
