Северный рассвет ранний
озарил ладью и небо,
Над постелью каменной
гладь сомкнул великий Нево,
крепко спит
(Здесь хозяин вод узорных,
древний дух земли озерной,
спит)

Озера бескрайние,
Альдоги глубоки дали —
Великие, малые
сорок рек его питали,
наводнив.
(Шелест капель рос болотных
в звоне струй ручьев холодных
свив).

Сколь же ты богат, Нево,
скалами да берегами,
Водами хрустальными,
зверем, птицей, рыб стадами,
что ж на дне!
(Глубина таит богато
клады серебра и злата
в ней).

Древняя ладейная
здесь дорога пролегает!
Зыбь валит в борта, грозный
шторм внезапно налетает —
только знак дан мне.
(Но судил пройти с рассветом
вод хозяин путь заветный
мне).

Над суровым Нево,
над холодной гладью вод
Заалел восход —
нам в поход!

В светлом небе Севера
над курганами камней
Тени прошлых дней
все ясней!

Northern dawn breaking,
lit the boat and sky.
Over the stony bed,
great Nevo closed its surface.
Sleeps deeply

Boundless lakes,
Aldogi's depths unfathomable —
Great and small,
forty rivers fed it,
filling it.
(Rustle of swamp dew drops,
in the sound of cold rivulets,
mingling).

How rich you are, Nevo,
with cliffs and shores,
With crystal waters,
herds of beasts, birds, and fish,
and what's at the bottom!

of silver and gold
in it).

The ancient boat road
runs here!
Swell hits the side, a
sudden fierce storm strikes —
