Долго будут в нашем фьорде этот случай вспоминать:
Как-то викингов дружина попросилась ночевать.
Мы, конечно, были рады бравых воинов приютить:: хоть и забыли те, наверное, разрешения спросить...

Широкоплечи и крепки скандинавы-мужики.
С ними скальд был - всех пониже,
но всех шире раза в три.
У всех ладна борода - сена рыжего копна.
А у того, что был всех ниже,
Так и вовсе до земли была!
Только яства и напитки разместились на столах -
Наши местные мужчины очутились вдруг в сенях!
Яства бойко разошлись меж бородатых жадных ртов.
А скальд был уличён в глотании
Ну, просто чудовищных кусков!
Захмелели - подобрели, ладну песню завели
О походах, о сражениях, о красе родной земли
Повергал всех стих их складный
В слёзы то, то в бурный смех.
А скальд, что ростом был всех ниже,

Пел, несомненно, слаще всех!

Раскраснелись добры молодцы,
Подобрели красны девицы
Рассажали парни девок на колени на свои.
Ну, а скальд, что был всех ниже,(но, при этом к девкам ближе)
Усадил аж целых три!: Утро встретило во сне всех, И очаг уж поостыл:

И с добром всем нашим в море
след героев уже стыл
Две недели наши парни тёрли мятые бока,
И загадочно блестели местных девушек глаза!...

Skald

Long will this incident in our fjord be remembered:
