Болезнь

Люди души коптят на бездымном огне
И смеются от счастья, как дети.
А по чьей-то сутулой, угрюмой спине
Хлещет плетью разгневанный ветер.
Над шеренгой пустых, обезличенных лиц
Плавно реют бездумные грезы.
А из чьих-то безжизненных, мертвых глазниц
Льются мутные желтые слезы...
Гулко колокол бьет - это время мое;
Черный всадник седлает коня.
Вот уже за углом вижу мрачный Содом -
Это тени встречают меня.
Черный кот обнажил в липкой крови клыки;
Слешен шепот, похожий на плачь.
Свой топор затупил, жизнь рубя на куски,
В грязном саване мрачный палач.
Свечи тускло чадят, из сгоревших церквей
Раздается пронзительный вой.
Пена капает с крыльев летучих мышей,
Что кружат над моей головой.
И сжималась рука, расширялся зрачок,
Мысли вялые шли чередой.
Время мчалось вперед, как гигантский волчок,
Сильно пущенный чьей-то рукой.
Год за десять - и мимо вся жизнь пронеслась,
Мысли были и канули в вечность.
Ты и сам не заметил, как нить порвалась.
Тишина, пустота, бесконечность...

Disease

People smoke their souls on a smokeless fire
And laugh with happiness, like children.
And on someone's stooped, sullen back
An enraged wind whips with a lash.
Over a row of empty, impersonal faces
Thoughtless dreams smoothly soar.
And from someone's lifeless, dead eye sockets
Murky yellow tears flow...
The bell tolls loudly - this is my time;
The black horseman saddles his steed.
I already see the gloomy Sodom around the corner -
These are the shadows greeting me.
The black cat bared its fangs in sticky blood;
