В городе опять Зима
Замело автомобили
Встали тени, сны застыли
Растеклись и застеклились
И на всей земле Зима
…. Белые хлопья снега….
В доме снег, сугробы на полу
Ель в игрушках ёжится в углу
Спят в снегу машинки, куклы
В городе опять, в городе Зима
В книжках остывают буквы
Ты устал, и сам уснул бы
Стал сугробом и заснул бы,
Чтоб во сне пришла Весна
…Белые хлопья снега…

Snowflakes

The city sleeps, streetlights are blinking,
In yellow patches of light, snow is falling.
Fog has devoured houses and steeples,
Winter has come to the city again.
Cars are buried in snow,
Shadows have risen, dreams have frozen,
They have spread and glazed over,
And Winter reigns over the whole earth.
…. White snowflakes….
Snow is in the house, drifts on the floor,
The fir tree in ornaments huddles in the corner,
Cars and dolls sleep in the snow,
Winter has come again, Winter is in the city.
Letters in books are cooling down,
You are tired, and you would fall asleep yourself,
Become a snowdrift and fall asleep,
So that Spring would come in a dream.
