שוכני בתי חמר,
למה תשיאו עין?

ואם תיטיב ראשיתה-
מה תעשה באחריתה?

יעזוב רשע דרכו
וישב לפני מלכו,
אולי צור יעתר
ומחרונו יסתר.

יהירים, התקוששו
וזכרו והתאוששו,
שאו לבב וכפיים
אל אל בשמיים.

הה על חטאתינו
ואוי על נפשותינו,
כי רוח רעינו
וגם כצאן תעינו.

ומה נבקש ומה נדרוש
ועוונות עברו ראש?
מאוד רבו עוונינו-
ואיך נישא פנינו?

דלה עמך משחת,
מושל רום ותחת,
ואם הקשינו עורף
חסדיך אל תרף.
