يامستجيب للدَّاعـي
جب دعوتي بإسـراعِ
وأشفي جميع أوجاعي
يامرتجـى يارحـمـان

أغفر لعبـدٍ مذنـب
من الخطايا يسكـب
بحب ساكـن يثـرب
طه شفيـع النيـران

وأنا صادفت الغانـي
مِن بعد مغرب دانـي
لابس قميص كيلانـي
ويميل ميل الأغصـان

وامعرقـه وامتركـي
يرتج أخضـر مكَّـي
وعقد لؤلـؤ يحكـي
من فوق حله كتـان

أقبل ينـط الشَّـارع
مثل الغزال الفـازع
وأنا فـطريقي جازع
فـصرت منه خجلان

أشعل فؤادي حسـره
بأعيان مثل الجمـره
فكيف لاهـي سمـره
فاقت جمال الغـزلان

قلت: أرحموني لأهلك
ياربربي مـن جهلـك
ماتختشي من أهلـك
أقفى وقال لي: عجلان

لو تسعفوا في خصلـه
المطلبه هـي سهلـه
تغنيك عـن ذا كلَّـه
وتزور عاشق ولهـان

فقال لـي: ياشاعـر
ذكرك في قلبي حاضر
بالأمس وأنـا سامـر
سمعت منكم الحـان

غنَّى بها بعض النَّـاس
أطرب جميع الإحساس
والآن قول لي لاباس
والعطف منكم إحسان

Meet my request immediately
And cure all of my pains
O Hope, O Merciful One

Forgive a sinful servant
Who is drowned in sins
For the love of the resident of Yathrib
Taha, the intercessor for the fires

And I happened upon the singer
Just after sunset
Wearing a Qilani shirt
And swaying like the branches

And his face and his body
Are like the fresh green of Mecca
And a necklace of pearls adorns
The top of his linen robe

He came hopping down the street
Like a frightened gazelle
And I am amazed at his path
So I am shy of him

He has kindled desire in my heart
With eyes like burning coals
So how could her evenings
Surpass the beauty of the gazelles

I said: Have mercy on your family
O my Lord, because of your ignorance
Are you not ashamed of your family
He turned and said to me: Hurry up

If you can help in a matter
The request is easy
It will suffice you in all of it
And visit a lover who is yearning

So he said to me: O poet
Your mention is present in my heart
Yesterday, while I was spending the evening
I heard your melodies

Some people sang them
And they captivated all the senses
And now tell me nicely
And affection from you is kindness
