แม่พร่ำสอน ก่อนไกลบ้าน มา
สายตาแม่ เหงา
เป็นเงา ติดใจไม่ หาย
ลูกมา อยู่ไกล
ห่วงใย แม่ ทุกเวลา
สู้งาน เหนื่อยกาย
อ่อนใจเมื่อ เจอปัญหา
หลายคราว อยากถอดใจลา
แต่แว่วตา แม่ คอยเตือนใจ
แพ้ บ่ได้ บอกใจ อย่าให้อ่อน แอ
ทุกข์ใดรัง แก กี่แผล ก็แพ้ บ่ได้
คนรัก จากลา น้ำตา ก็รินท่วม ใจ
ตกงาน กี่ครั้ง
ผิดหวัง กี่คราวร้อง ไห้

For My Mother, I Can't Give Up

I've written my mother's teachings
In a poem, and taped it to the wall
When I come home from work
I read it again and again, to remind me of her words
To study and work hard
And never forget my hometown
Our family is still struggling
My mother's words of advice before I left home
Her eyes, so lonely
They follow me everywhere I go
Now that I'm far away from home
I worry about my mother all the time
Working hard, my body is tired
I feel discouraged when I face problems
There have been times when I wanted to give up
But the image of my mother's eyes keeps me going
I can't give up, I tell myself, don't be weak
No matter how much pain I'm in, I can't give up
When the one I love leaves me, tears fill my heart
When I lose my job, time and time again
When I fail, time and time again
If my mother is still suffering
No matter how much it hurts, I tell myself to keep going
