So many times people have heard
That things only happen if they are meant to
Sometimes people say it is what it is
These subtle words, both mean the same, but have
Such different connotations, negative and positive
Both are true and both are big lies
Easy comfort and cheap street fatalism
So often I hear, if you try, you will succeed
You must try, no matter what
If you don't succeed, it is because you didn't try hard enough
These clever words which make me think, yes, that's true
But even if you try, it doesn't mean you'll succeed
The proverb “no pain, no gain” is the same lie
Think of all the people who suffer without respite
Don't be so quick to believe these deceptive words
