While listening to the raspy blues of a seventeen-year-old,
I, a dreamer, heave sentimental sighs.
There's probably not much good in store.
I tirelessly search for a fleeting smile.
My friends and I fooling around on the street corner,
Our stubborn hearts and dark eyes bear a shadow of loneliness.
Whether it's a fight, a pickup, or a complaint, we're all the same.
My heart races with excitement as I continue to dance, becoming drenched in sweat.
A cigarette in my mouth, a map of my seventeen years.
On the street corner, a young girl sells herself,
Doing anything for quick cash.
She's lost her dreams and plays with love. I've forgotten that girl.
The fact that I must always keep my heart shining.
Little by little, I'm beginning to understand the meaning of things,
But it's certainly not something I learned in class.
Even though I'm bound by the loose lifestyles of nagging adults,
I will not forget my beautiful dreams.
If I push through the crowds and walk along the wall,
I'll crawl from corner to corner and find the strength to live.
A cold wind blows through my petty heart.
On the pedestrian bridge, I look back at the scorching sunset.
Now, it illuminates all the events that occur on the map of my heart.
Inside the train, I feel the stories of the people pushing against me.
I feel the dedication in my parents' backs. Lately, I've often shed tears.
