Apple Tree

The tree is laden with a grand wish for love
From spring to autumn, it yields grudges
Without your warmth, the leaves must survive
They draw from my heart's blood
I planted apples with utmost care, to nourish you and me
But alas, the fruit bore only bitterness
Our love was fleeting, and life has moved on
Happiness can corrupt emotions, and only invite longing
We severed our bond with a single night's embrace, like petals scattering in the wind
Leaving me in this paradise lost
Who can truly promise forever?
I etched our love into the tree's bark
Stifling its life, as I poured my soul into despair
Without your sustenance, the leaves have withered
Together, we planted wildflowers that once brought us joy
We turned the soil with our own hands, and our love was real
Though we never bore fruit, we reveled in its blossoms
Now, three hundred days apart, we've both found new paths
But a flicker of longing still lingers
