I give you a plate of longing beans, to send in a boat at the winter solstice
The crimson glow melts away your presence, leaving only the white snow
The exquisite embroidery that Suzhou produces covers my emaciated body

Looking back, I see clearly that I have experienced much joy
But lacking you, what do I truly possess?

I am not myself. As you turn to leave, the person in Suzhou is not me
Instead, beautiful scenery conceals me, as I continue to live as though everything were wonderful
But, alas, all I have is your receding ripples
Who else can touch me as you do?
You stir the mountains and rivers. The person in the azure waves is not me
Behind you, images float upon the river, one after another
Helplessly, I clutch at beauty, but it slips away
Like a solid stone, my steady self can be shattered

Our past together extinguished like a flame. How much of it will I remember?
