Water weaves around the Solitary Peak, a brush-holder in the clouds
The shadows of the mountains stretch into the water
Autumn perfumes the air with the fragrance of osmanthus flowers
Boatmen chat and laugh, their voices echoing across the river banks

I was born to live in this land,
To escape the sadness of the mundane world
But my home is far away, this is not my birthplace
Though I may linger here for a while, I must eventually move on

Perhaps this is the nature of dreams,
Perhaps they will ultimately disappoint
Every beautiful journey
Is accompanied by the realization that dreams are often illusory

Don't think about home, how it has changed
