奥の細道

空行く雲に 誘われて
止むに止まれず 旅支度
行く春や鳥啼魚(とりなきうお)の目は泪(なみだ)

行く手は遥か 三千里
言の葉に 命吹き込む
奥の細道

栄華を偲ぶ 奥州路
衣川原(ころもがわら)に もののふの
夏草や兵(つはもの)どもが夢の跡
判官主従(ほうがんしゅじゅう) 高館(たかだち)の
うたかたに 涙落とした
奥の細道

閑(しずか)さや岩にしみ入る蝉の声
悠久の 息吹たどりゆく
言の葉に 命吹き込む

Invited by clouds traveling in the sky
I had no choice but to prepare for my journey
As spring passes, the eyes of singing birds and fish weep

The path ahead is three thousand miles long
I breathe life into words

The Oshu Road, where I recall past glories
At Koromogawa Plain, samurai
Summer grass where soldiers' dreams remain
Lord Yoshitsune Minamoto and his followers at Takadachi
Like a fleeting dream, I shed tears

How serene, the cicada's song soaks into the rocks
I follow the breath of eternity
I breathe life into words
