Time I trusted, now distant in the past
I have aged, the years have flown by so fast
I am not yet ready for what lies ahead
Yet, here I am, in its embrace instead
I thought at this age
I'd have accomplished so much more
Gained wisdom and grown stronger
But I'm still the same as before
Where should I be by now?
I feel the same, my dreams unchanged
My foolish hopes
When will they mature and deepen?
Sometimes I can't believe
The numbers that I see
And I laugh alone
Still, I have expectations
I want to lean on someone
But there is no one
Growing older
Should bring depth and understanding
When will I become wise?
When will I stop rushing?
Where should I be by now?
I feel the same, my heart unchanged
My foolish feelings
When will they mature and deepen?
