I noticed today you didn't make it in

But I thought last week you said something about your brother

I overheard that you've been feeling unwell
You've taken the week off to get over this spell
And although we only send Christmas cards to each other
I thought I'd come by just to check if you will recover
Cause I know how it is
And people get busy
And I know how it is
When things aren't that easy

Everyone's saying that you're making it up
That you've been complaining and maybe you've had enough
But I thought last week you said that work keeps you going
Just sometimes it feels all a bit too much at the moment

And I could be wrong
And they probably know you
But they'll all move on
And forget what you're going through

And I overheard that you've been feeling unwell
You've taken the week off to get over this spell
And although we only send Christmas cards to each other
I thought I'd come by just to check if you will recover

You've stopped taking phone calls
And invites to dinner
Everyone was saying how you're looking much thinner
You turned up to that last work party
Just for an hour
And isn't it funny how
They all talk to you now?

Weil ich weiß, wie es ist
