If I wander the beach tomorrow, my dear,
Memories of the past will come to me.
The sound of the wind, the drifting clouds,

The lapping waves and the colors of shells.

When I walked along the beach last night, my love,
I remembered those who came before.
The surging waves, the receding waves,
The color of the moon, the shadows of the stars.

Quickly, quickly, blow the waves,
Lest you wet the hem of my crimson skirt.
