Shalva lived on the ninth floor
with his tolerable-looking wife.
For the past few months, every morning
he would wake up with a sharp pain in his chest.
In these moments, he would remember every prayer he had ever memorized,
though this didn't stop him from squandering
his employees' bonuses at a Khinkali restaurant at the end of the month.
His employees, victims of his nepotism,
called him Shalikoo, "the one filled with black dog," behind his back.
One fine day, he decided to see a doctor,
who addressed him rather rudely.
I don't know what it was all about,
perhaps it was part of some divine jurisprudence.
The doctor, with a rather self-satisfied smirk, told him:
