Song of Illusory Dream

From nothingness, came being, sensing the passage of time
Smallest drop of moisture, desiring connection, inviting me to capture it
Bones embalmed in peaks, visage reflected in water's grace
Through all seasons, I have met this beauty, in the Western Isle

What is in the Western Isle? Distant trees, level with the hill
Clouds drift outside the mundane world, rain refusing to fall
Bustling city, now silent, every expression captured in detail
Moss-covered robes, partially unfurled, time seems carefree

Riding a horse and chariot, how far to soar into the painting
Just a few steps
The curved bridge, difficult to cross, sincerity hard to convey
Waiting for you at the ferry, waiting for you at the bridgehead

Pine needles scatter on the ground
Waving my brush, dragons and tigers emerge
Small stones fall into the sea, creating ripples
Melody played on the qin, strings resonating
Strokes of ink, painting the vast desert, waves crashing
A single piece of paper, capturing the essence of the world
Remember me, the wind whispers, yet our fingers never touch
Form and spirit are born, this sense, wanders freely

How long do the sun and moon live, the water clock drips
Borrowing moments from life, joy and sorrow in return
Planting willows, the warbler sings, knowing its beauty will fade
Longing continues, life after life, who in another world will hear the cuckoo

Poems speak of red beans, abundant in the south, yet I have never seen love last
How many
In youth they come, in old age they go
Unforgettable, yet elusive, searching without end

Those outside the painting are fragile
Like colors blending, creating a symphony of hues
Dipped in ice and snow, first donning glass armour
Dipped in crimson and purple, ascending to a golden tower
Fate's blue city, now dust and ash, weapons rusted
Lifting my hand, I spill ink across the sky, obscuring the right
See me, by lantern light, alone I return to the river
Body and soul are borrowed, in this world, wandering free

Love is a paradox, without trees a forest cannot grow, without water a boat cannot sail
Love is a mystery, not yet understood, both true and false
Love is a person, both deep and shallow, new and old
Love is a thought, ink not empty
Generations of brushstrokes, fleeting, confining us to the earth

Need to drink from Bluefield's spring, only nectar can quench my thirst
The highest is clear and pure, the most precious is soft and gentle
Passionate fire, knowing it cannot be fulfilled
Drunken song, knowing it need not be heard
I only wish for a brief encounter, a spark of recognition

All sound ceases
Propping my chin, I listen to the autumn stream questioning the mayfly
The heavens are vast and unfathomable
Yet I believe that love is the greatest comfort
Gazing at flowers blooming in the void, suddenly I dream
You and the twenty-eight stars all turn to look
Tie me, with a red thread of whale fins and rainbow wings, to the heavens and earth
Where love resides, this heart, wanders freely
