companions

guest

abandoning
worldly
attachments

伴随恶友三毒盛，闻思修德渐坏少

by
bad
friends,

three
poisons
intensify,

deteriorate
慈悲喜舍令退失，远离恶友佛子行
Compassion,
joy,
and
equanimity
lead
to
decline,
distancing

bad
friends

Bodhisattva
依善知识罪渐消，功德增如上弦月
Reliance
on
virtuous
teachers
diminishes
sins,
merit
increases
like

waxing
moon
珍视智慧圣导师，重于自身佛子行
Cherish
the
wisdom
of

holy
teacher,
more
than
your
own
self,
this
is

Bodhisattva
自身仍陷输回狱，世间神只能护谁
Your
own
self
remains
trapped
in
the
prison
of
Samsara,
which
worldly
deity
can
truly
protect
you?
应依殊胜无虚者，皈依三宝佛子行
You
should
rely
on
the
unsurpassable
and
infallible
ones,
taking
refuge
in
the
Three
Jewels
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
诸极难忍恶趣苦，世尊说为恶业果
The
unbearable
sufferings
of
the
lower
realms,
the
World
Honored
One
explains
as
the
result
of
negative
karma
纵须舍命为代价，亦不造罪佛子行
Even
if
it
requires
sacrificing
your
life,
do
not
create
negative
karma,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
三界乐如草头露，均属刹那坏灭法
The
pleasures
of
the
three
realms
are
like
dew
on
the
grass,
all
subject
to
momentary
destruction
不变无上解脱道，奋起希求佛子行
Strive
for

unchanging,
supreme
path
to
liberation,
this
is
the

Bodhisattva
无始劫来慈悯恩，诸母若苦我何乐
From
beginningless
time,
with
compassionate
grace,
if
mothers
suffer,
how
can
I
be
happy?
为度无边有情故，发菩提心佛子行
For

sake
of
countless
sentient
beings,
generate
the
mind
of
Bodhi,
this
is
the

of

Bodhisattva
诸苦源于贪己乐，诸佛生于利他心
All
suffering
originates
from
self-cherishing,
all
Buddhas
arise
from
the
mind
of
benefiting
others
故于自乐与他苦，如实修换佛子行
Therefore,
with
self-pleasure
and
the
suffering
of
others,
truly
practice
exchange,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
纵他因贪亲盗取，或令旁人夺我财
Even
if
they
steal
from
me
due
to
greed,
or
others
take
my
wealth
犹将身财三时善，回向于彼佛子行
Still,
dedicate
my
body,
wealth,
and
virtues
of
the
three
times
to
them,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
我虽无有何罪过，竟有人欲断吾头
Although
I
have
committed
no
wrong,
someone
seeks
to
take
my
life
然以悲心于诸罪，自身代受佛子行
Yet,
with
compassion
for
all
transgressions,
I
take
their
burden
upon
myself,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
纵人百般中伤我，丑闻谣传遍三千
Even
if
people
slander
me
in
a
hundred
ways,
and
rumors
spread
throughout
the
three
thousand
worlds
吾犹深怀悲悯心，赞叹他德佛子行
I
still
hold
a
deep
sense
of
compassion,
praising
their
virtues,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
若人于众集会中，揭我隐私出恶言
If
someone,
in
a
public
gathering,
exposes
my
secrets
and
speaks
ill
of
me
犹视彼如善导师，恭敬致礼佛子行
I
still
regard
them
as
a
virtuous
teacher,
offering
respect
and
reverence,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
护养于他若己子，其反视我如仇敌
Nurturing
others
as
my
own
children,
even
if
they
view
me
as
an
enemy
仍似慈母怜病儿，倍加悲悯佛子行
Still,
like
a
loving
mother
caring
for
a
sick
child,
I
offer
greater
compassion,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
其若等同或低劣，心怀傲慢侮蔑我
Even
if
they
are
equal
or
inferior,
harboring
arrogance
and
contempt
towards
me
吾亦敬彼如上师，恒常顶戴佛子行
I
still
respect
them
as
a
superior,
constantly
holding
them
in
high
regard,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
纵因贫困受轻贱，复遭重病及魔障
Even
if
I
suffer
humiliation
due
to
poverty,
and
encounter
severe
illness
and
demonic
obstacles
众生罪苦己代受，无怯儒心佛子行
I
take
upon
myself
the
sufferings
and
sins
of
sentient
beings,
without
cowardice
or
weakness,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
虽富盛名众人敬，财宝等齐多闻天
Even
if
I
am
wealthy
and
renowned,
respected
by
all,
with
treasures
rivaling
Vaishravana
犹观荣华无实义，离骄慢心佛子行

still
view
prosperity
as
devoid
of
true
meaning,
abandoning
pride
and
arrogance,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
若未降除内瞋敌，外敌虽伏旋增盛
If
the
inner
enemy
of
anger
is
not
subdued,
external
enemies,
even
if
defeated,
will
rise
again
故应速以慈悲军，降伏自心佛子行
Therefore,
swiftly
employ
the
army
of
compassion
to
conquer
your
own
mind,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
三界欲乐如盐水，渴求转增无餍足
The
desires
and
pleasures
of
the
three
realms
are
like
saltwater,
the
more
you
crave,
the
more
insatiable
you
become
于诸能生贪着物，即刻舍离佛子行
From
all
objects
that
give
rise
to
attachment,
detach
immediately,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
诸援所显唯自心，性体本离戏论边
All
appearances
are
merely
projections
of
your
own
mind,
their
nature
is
inherently
free
from
conceptual
extremes
不着能取所取相，心不作意佛子行
Do
not
grasp
at

duality
of
subject
and
object,
let
your
mind
remain
uncontrived,

Bodhisattva
遭逢欣喜悦意境，应观犹如夏时虹
When
encountering
joyful
and
pleasing
circumstances,
view
them
like
a
summer
rainbow
外象美丽内无实，舍离贪执佛子行
Outwardly
beautiful,
inwardly
empty,
abandon
clinging
and
attachment,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
诸苦犹如梦子死，妄执实有极忧恼
All
sufferings
are
like
the
death
of
a
dream
child,
clinging
to
their
reality
brings
extreme
distress
故于违缘逆境时，当观虚妄佛子行
Therefore,
during
times
of
adversity
and
hardship,
contemplate
their
illusory
nature,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
为求菩提身尚舍，身外物自不待言
For
the
sake
of
Bodhi,
even
the
body
is
offered,
let
alone
external
possessions
布施不盼异熟果，不求回报佛子行
Give
without
expectation
of
reward
or
return,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
无戒自利尚不成，欲求利他岂可能
Without
ethical
discipline,
even
self-benefit
is
unattainable,
how
can
one
seek
to
benefit
others?
故于世乐不希求，勤护戒律佛子行
Therefore,
do
not
seek
worldly
pleasures,
diligently
protect
ethical
discipline,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
欲积福善诸佛子，应观怨家如宝藏
Bodhisattvas
who
wish
to
accumulate
merit
and
virtue,
should
view
enemies
as
treasures
于众生舍瞋恶心，修习宽忍佛子行
Towards
all
beings,
relinquish
anger
and
hatred,
cultivate
patience
and
tolerance,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
见求自利二乘士，勤修行如救头燃
Witnessing
self-seeking
practitioners
of
the
Two
Vehicles,
diligently
practice
as
if
extinguishing
a
fire
on
your
head
利众生为善德源，欢喜精进佛子行
Benefiting
sentient
beings
is
the
source
of
virtue,
rejoice
in
diligent
effort,
this
is
the

of
a
Bodhisattva
甚深禅定生慧观，摧尽业障烦恼魔
Profound
meditative
concentration
gives
rise
to
wisdom,
destroying
karmic
obstacles

afflictions
知已应离四无色，修习静虑佛子行

abandon

four
formless
realms,
cultivate
meditative
stability,

五度若无智慧导，菩提正觉难圆成

the
guidance
of
wisdom,
the
five
perfections
cannot
lead

perfect
enlightenment
认知三轮实体空，智巧合一佛子行
Recognize

emptiness
of
the
three
wheels
of
action,
unite
skillful
means
with
wisdom,
this

Bodhisattva
若不省察己过错，披佛外衣行非法
If
you
do
not
examine
your
own
faults,
wearing
the
robes
of
a
Buddha
while
engaging
in
unwholesome
actions
故当恒常行观照，断除己过佛子行
Therefore,
constantly
practice
introspection,
sever
your
own
transgressions,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
我因烦恼道他过，减损功德徒退转
When
I
speak
of
others'
faults
due
to
my
own
afflictions,
my
merit
diminishes
and
I
regress
故于菩萨诸缺失，切莫议论佛子行
Therefore,
regarding
the
shortcomings
of
Bodhisattvas,
refrain
from
discussion,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
因求利敬起争执，闻思修业渐退转
Disputes
arising
from
seeking
personal
gain
and
respect
lead
to
decline
in
listening,
contemplation,
and
practice
故于亲友施主家，舍弃贪恋佛子行
Therefore,
towards
friends,
relatives,
and
patrons,
relinquish
attachment
and
craving,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
粗言恶语恼人心，复伤佛子诸行仪
Harsh
and
malicious
words
disturb
the
minds
of
others
and
harm
the
conduct
of
Bodhisattvas
令人不悦之恶口，舍弃莫说佛子行
Abandon
unpleasant
speech,
refrain
from
speaking
such
words,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
烦恼串习难对治，觉智之士正念持
Habitual
afflictions
are
difficult
to
overcome,
those
of
wisdom
maintain
mindfulness
贪瞋痴心初萌起，即时摧灭佛子行
The
moment
greed,
anger,
and
ignorance
arise,
immediately
destroy
them,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
无论何时行何事，应观自心之相状
Whenever
and
whatever
you
do,
observe
the
state
of
your
own
mind
恒系正念与正知，成办利他佛子行
Constantly
maintain
mindfulness
and
awareness,
accomplishing
the
benefit
of
others,
this
is
the
conduct
of
a
Bodhisattva
由此精勤所修善，为除无边众生苦

this
diligent
cultivation
of
virtue,
to
alleviate

suffering

countless
