Atr El Hayah (The Vein of Life)

With every tick of the clock, my life slips away, passes by.
People and the world are changing, even iron rusts.
And I'm the only one standing still, stuck in my place.
Some people chose the right path, others chose the wrong one.
It's a harsh and difficult feeling when people see you as a failure, my love.
Your father, mother, siblings, and friends all see you unemployed.
"Get up, son, strive and try," they say, "But I swear, I've tried so hard."
I've tried so many times, but before I score, it's always a foul.
I don't have the skills, not even a tiny bit, and my mess is a mess, darling.
And after the last drop of gasoline, I'm still pushing.
In every job interview, I'm told, "Go wrap yourself with your degree."
"Lie down next to any wall and get yourself a kiss." They mock me.
I had a flashback, calculated my age, thirty years I found, sweetheart.
I calculated again and a third time, and I was shocked.
I look in the mirror, a few white hairs I found.
And my father is still the one providing for the house.
My family treats me like a burden, and my situation is dire, my dear.
My self-confidence is gone, success has become impossible.
I want to escape from myself, my situation, my family, and the world.
I want to find another world to escape to, even if only for a second.
And one day, my friend told me, the one who guides you on the path...

He told me, "There's a nice hit session at night, we're having it."
"I asked him, 'Hash?' He laughed and said, 'Bissa.' I said, 'No, I'll get addicted.'"
"He said, 'Don't worry, you can't get addicted from the first hit.'"
He convinced me, and that night, he indeed gave me my first hit.
My joints melted and relaxed, and my soul flew away.
I'm talking to myself inside, rambling, but silent on the outside.
My worries seemed to fade, and the vision blurred.
Every problem I had in the world died and disappeared.
Hours passed in seconds, and I found the group leaving.
I entered my house at dawn, my family was asleep.
I buried myself under the blanket, my body frozen.
I slept in less than a second, like someone anesthetized.

I'm bored, fed up with life, you could say I'm done.

I woke up and returned to reality and its misery.
The day passed slowly, as if it were several months and a year.
I wish the day would pass quickly so I could hit again.
To return to my own time, away from the world that abandoned me.
Let me hit with them every day, and I'm even inviting them.
I've entered the path now, and the road is being drawn.
My friend surprised me one day.
He told me to my face, "Slow down, swim." (Meaning, take it easy).

I took the money and ran, knowing I wouldn't return home again.

I lost all my family and friends, I became alone.
And where will I get money? I have to find a new way.
Suddenly, I remembered a neighbor my age who lived alone all his life.
His father works abroad and sends him money monthly.
I pulled him, just like I was pulled, to the same path.
I found a new source of money, a house, and a friend.
We hit together with his money, in his house, and we're out of sight.
His father's years of hard work were all gone in four months.
And one night, while we were hitting, he got a call he couldn't believe.
His father found out that his son was stealing from him and was transferred to intensive care.
Every nerve in my body tensed, I increased the dose more.
The usual dose was no longer effective.
The film of my life is playing before me, dusty and bleak.
I injected the poison into my veins, increased it more and more.
I want to vanish and be done with the world, evaporate like water.
I increased it again, my whole body turned yellow.
My friend panicked, jumped up quickly, "What's wrong? Why are you yellow, man?"
Your body is sweating and trembling like someone bitten by a snake.
Although I'm drowning in sweat, my body is frozen, in pain and hurting.
From the shock, I tried to stand up straight, my body crashed to the ground.
My body refused every command, the strength drained away.
And the world gradually darkened, and slowly turned black.
The last scene I saw in my life was a tragedy.
My friend terrified, watching my departure from life.

My life quickly ended.
I replayed the film of my life, I didn't find anything good to remember that I had done.
My life is gone, I wasted it all.
I regret every dark moment I lived.
