يا ابن المَرَاغَةِ! أيْنَ خَالُكَ؟إنّني
خالي حُبيشٌ ذو الفَعالِ الأفضَلُ
خالي الذي غَصَبَ المُلُوكَ نُفُوسَهمْ
وإلَيْهِ كَانَ حِبَاءُ جَفْنَةَ يُنْقَلُ
إنّا لَنَضرِبُ رَأسَ كُلّ قَبِيلَةٍ
وأَبُوكَ خَلْفَ أتَانِهِ يَتَقَمّلُ

شبه الجزيرة العربية
هو أول مكان في العالم بدأت فيه المبارازات الكلامية
إتنين شعرا بيتحدوا بعض قدام الناس في السوق
كل واحد بيرتجل قصيدة بيهجوا فيها خصمه
و اللي كان بيبهر الناس
براعة الشعرا دول و سرعة البديهة و الملكة في إستخدام اللغة
حتى إن ربنا سبحانه و تعالى لما نزل عليهم معجزة، نزل القرآن الكريم
عشان فيه إعجاز لغوي
و لما قروه قالوا ان الكلام ده إستحالة يكون فيه انسان كتبه
ده منزل من رب
و طور العرب الشعر أكتر و أكتر
لدرجة انهم أنشأوا علم إسمه علم العروض
و هو تقسيم الشعر لبحور حسب ايقاع الكلام

إني إنْصَببتُ مِنَ السمَاءِ عَليكُمُ
حَتى إخْتَطَفتُك يا فَرَزدقُ مِن عَلى

و اللي ألف ده كان الخليل إبن أحمد الفراهيدي
لما كان ماشي في سوق الحدادين
و سمع إيقاعات طرق السيوف و الحديد
إبتكر موضوع الإيقاع في الكلام ده
الأفكار دي وصلت إفريقيا عن طريق التجارة و الأفارقة بطيبيعة ثقافتهم فيها الايقاع و الطبل
فقالوا الشعر على إيقاعه موسيقى
و لما كولومبس إكتشف أمريكا أخدوا بعدها كتير من الأفارقة كعبيد
و كانوا بيحكوا مشاكلهم و مشاكل الشارع و الحياة على الإيقاع
و الفن ده بدأ يظهر، و سموه راب
و انتسب لأمريكا
بس هو في الحقيقة

Introduction

O son of Maraqa! Where is your uncle? He is
My uncle Hubaysh, of the best deeds,
My uncle who captivated the kings' souls,
And to him the gift of Jafna was brought.
Verily, we will strike the head of every tribe,
And your father behind his buttocks cowers.

The Arabian Peninsula
Is the first place in the world where verbal sparring began.
Two poets would challenge each other in front of people in the market.
Each one would improvise a poem mocking their opponent,
And what amazed people
Was the skill of these poets, their quick wit, and mastery of language.
So much so that when God Almighty sent down a miracle upon them, He sent down the Holy Quran,
Because it contains linguistic miracles.
And when they read it, they said that it was impossible for a human to have written this.
This is revealed from a Lord.
And the Arabs developed poetry more and more,
To the extent that they created a science called the science of prosody,
Which is the division of poetry into meters based on the rhythm of speech.

If I poured down from the sky upon you,
Until I snatched you, O Farazdaq, from above

And the one who composed this was Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad al-Farahidi
When he was walking in the blacksmiths' market
And heard the rhythms of the striking of swords and iron,
He invented this concept of rhythm in speech.
These ideas reached Africa through trade, and Africans, by nature of their culture, have rhythm and drums.
So they said poetry to its rhythm is music.
And when Columbus discovered America, they took many Africans as slaves afterward.
And they used to tell their problems and the problems of the street and life to the rhythm.
And this art began to emerge, and they called it rap.
And it became attributed to America,
But it is in fact
Of Arab origin.
