Al preso número nueve ya lo van a confesar.
Está rezando en la celda con el cura del penal.
Porque antes de amanecer la vida le han de quitar.
Porque mató a su mujer y a un amigo desleal.
Dice así: al confesor
Los maté sí señor
Y si vuelvo a nacer.
Yo los vuelvo a matar.
Padre no me arrepiento ni me da miedo la eternidad.
Yo sé que allá en el cielo el ser supremo me ha de juzgar.
Voy a seguir sus pasos voy a buscarlos al más allá.
El preso número nueve era hombre muy cabal.
Iba en la noche del duelo muy contento a su jacal.
Pero al mirar a su amor en brazos de su rival.
Sintió en su pecho un dolor y no se pudo aguantar.
Al sonar el clarín
Se formó el pelotón.
Y rumbo al paredón.
Se oyó al preso decir.
Padre no me arrepiento ni me da miedo la eternidad.

Prisoner Number 9

Prisoner number nine is going to confess.
He is praying in his cell with the prison chaplain.
Because before dawn they will take his life.
Because he killed his wife and a disloyal friend.
He says like this to the confessor:
I killed them, yes my lady,
And if I was born again,
I would kill them again.
My lady, I don't regret it, nor am I afraid of eternity.
I know that the supreme being will judge me in heaven.
I will follow their steps, I will seek them out in the afterlife.
Prisoner number nine was a very honorable man.
He went to the night of the duel very happy to his hut.
But when he saw his love in the arms of his rival,
He felt a pain in his chest and could not resist.
When the bugle sounded,
The firing squad formed.
And on the way to the wall,
The prisoner was heard to say,
