Noch heute spiele ich in meinen Shows
"Mein Gott hat de längsten" und die Leute fragen dann manchmal:
"Möchtest du nicht jetzt gerade aus gegeben Anlass,
Wegen der aktuellen Lage darauf verzichten ihn zu spielen?"
Ironischerweise war die Lage auf der Welt damals
Als ich den Song geschrieben hab nicht wirklich anders.
Wer glaubt das erst jetzt im Namen von
Religion gemordet wird, der liegt leicht daneben.
Ich habe damals gedacht Ich müsse mich für den Song öfters vor
Gläubigen rechtfertigen und ihnen erklären das ich nicht
Gegen Religion selbst singe sondern gegen Fanatiker und Gewalt.
Aber Gläubige waren nicht diejenigen
Vor denen ich mich rechtfertigen musste.
Es waren die, die geglaubt haben das die Gläubigen
Ihn nicht verstünden, eine Welt voller Missverständnisse.

Even today, I play "Mein Gott hat de längsten" in my shows,
and people sometimes ask me:
"Wouldn't you like to refrain from playing it right now,
given the current situation?"
Ironically, the world situation wasn't really different
when I wrote the song.
Anyone who believes that people are only now being murdered
in the name of religion is slightly mistaken.
At the time, I thought I would have to justify the song more often to
believers and explain to them that I am not
singing against religion itself, but against fanatics and violence.
But believers weren't the ones
I had to justify myself to.
It was those who believed that the believers
wouldn't understand him, a world full of misunderstandings.
