May the poets, troubadours, and lyricists forgive me,
Singer-songwriters, baritones, contraltos, and artists,
May the intellectual thinkers forgive me,
Philosophers, theorists, and creators.
I only know that I write, therefore I exist,
Because the word comes alive and has meaning.
It gives me that breath, from oxygen to the ear,
Like a vital organ, what I feel and what I say.
Art is an art to liberate oneself,
To shed expectations and standards,
To be carried away, to sway with thought,
To put oneself in ideas in continuous movement.
My name matters little, my face is changing,
With the passage of time, it wrinkles,
I do not fear old age, I fear stupidity,
The meaningless emptiness that invades this era.
I question what to say, how to approach a subject,
A commitment to the world, because singing is my school,
Rhyming is my academy and sometimes my dilemma,
And in that synchronicity, living it is worth it.
