Me v' là, c'est moi: Fredo l' porteur.
C' que j'en vois défiler, des gens,
Du matin au soir dans la gare,

Alors, j' reste Fredo l' porteur.
L'aut' jour, un taxi s'arrete.
Je m' précipite, c'était mon tour.
Bon. J'ouvre la portière, je rentre la tête
Pour bien voir si y' avait du lourd
Et puis, v' là qu' j'aperçois une fille,
Une fille qu'avait tellement d' beauté
Que j'en étais paralysé.
Tout en tremblotant sur mes quilles,
Elle me dit avec un sourire:
" Tenez porteur, prenez tout ça. "
Et moi, comme un mannequin en cire,
J' la r'gardais et puis j'bougeais pas.
J'avais envie d' lui dire:
" Madame, depuis qu'il m'est permis d' rêver,

C'est toujours à vous qu' j'ai pensé.

Et qu' je m' suis dépêché de descendre.
De là, j' suis parti au bistrot,
J'ai bu un coup, deux coups, trois coups,
J'ai bu jusqu'à temps que j' sois saoul.
Puis j'ai expliqué aux poteaux
Les beaux yeux et les ch'veux de ma blonde.
Quand j'ai eu fini d' raconter,
Si vous aviez vu à la ronde
Comment ils ont tous rigolé.
Moi, j'ai rigolé avec eux, hein.
Entre hommes, y fallait ça, c'était mieux.
Mais, c' que ça m' faisait mal de rire,
Surtout que j' pouvais pas leur dire

Je v' nais de faire la plus grande bêtise
En ayant porté la valise

Fredo the Porter

Here I am, it's me: Fredo the porter.
