How sweet the torment that within me dwells
That I live content for cruel beauty.

To the wave of pride my faith shall be.
May deceitful hope turn my foot away
May delight nor peace descend upon me.
And may the wicked one I adore deny me solace
Of a gracious reward: amidst infinite pain

In the haven of Heaven I shall have rest.
If a deadly blow with a rigid arrow
Should wound my heart changing my fate

If cruel beauty denies compassion
Which has enamored my soul, it shall surely be
