Of the Lord's Birth

In the birth of the Lord, rejoice,
Sing out to the living God!
Joy flows among people everywhere,
An angel awakens by the valley
The shepherds who tend their flocks in the forest!
In the midst of the night, a fire breaks out!
Think, shepherds, at this sight.
Each asks, what is happening,
Is it not day, is it not dawn,
Why does this light shine so brightly?
But when they heard the angelic voices,
They immediately ran to Bethlehem.
There they greeted the Lord,
They knelt on their knees
And gave the gifts they had brought with them.
Let us also rejoice today with the shepherds,
Let us sing praises with the angels!
For this Jesus, given from heaven,
Will take us among the heavenly ones,
Only let us love Him with all our hearts!
