Che ti avrei delusa pure questa volta
La tua porta è chiusa, la mia faccia è storta
E tu segni appunto questa città smorta proprio come noi
Ma vabbè, non importa, va bene
Basta che ti siedi e che non provi più a scappare
Che poi dove vuoi andare col tuo malumore?
Il meteo delle sei, c'è perturbazione
In un caffè del centro piovono silenzi e litri di parole

Parlami di te
Di cosa hai fatto in questi anni
Che son sicuro che mi hai pensato
Sono sicuro che mi hai lasciato
Ad appassire dentro qualche libro di poesia
Perché poetico lo sono sempre stato
E sono bravo a tenere il segno
Delle cose che non hai mai detto
Delle cose che non ho mai detto

Però adesso che abbiamo cent'anni
E non abbiamo più niente, più niente da dirci
Non ti sembra strano che questo silenzio ci abbia reso simili?
Come due gocce d'acqua nel volerci credere agli antipodi
Però adesso che sono lo stesso
Di cento anni fa, forse solo un po' più grasso
E va bene, avrò forse anche detto qualcosa di stronzo
Però poi per il resto

At a cafe downtown, silences cascade like waves, and words pour out by the gallon

Leaving me to wither away inside some poetry book
Because darling, I have always been poetical
And I am adept at keeping my mark
On the things you've never said
On the things I've never said

But now that we're a hundred years old
We don't have anything left, nothing left to say
Don't you find it strange that this silence has made us so similar?
Like two raindrops that want to believe we're polar opposites
But now that I am the same as I was
A hundred years ago, perhaps a little bit fatter
And you know, maybe I said something really awful
But for everything else
I wish I could tell you I love you, but I can't
And that I'm feeling fine after all
