I just want some insight on the life on the average teenage girl
One who looks like on the outside that she just has it all

I know that it doesn't matter in the end
But sometimes I feel I'm on the outside looking in
I'm happy where I'm at so I won't get too vocal
But sometimes I wonder what it's like to be a little bit more social

Not trying to complain
I'm just a little curious cause' I see the pictures, see the post
Reckless, mean, not even close!
Cause' why would I be something that I'm not?
I should be happy with the friends I've got!
But these thoughts still come to mind and
I can't help but wonder it sometimes

Am I missin' out on something I don't have?

But I bet if I was there, I wouldn't care
I'd dance but I'd stay low
Kids all raising cups while I'm in the back starin' at my phone

And
I know that it doesn't matter in the end
But sometimes I feel I'm on the outside looking in, and
I'm happy where I'm at so, I won't get too vocal
But sometimes I wonder what it's like to be a little bit more social

The thought of what could of been still
Gets under my skin but
Its worth all the stress
All this constant "he said she said" mess
Pressure of society
I won't let it get to me, not defined by popularity
All this sly you know why... me!

Ooo, vielleicht wurde ich nie zu Partys eingeladen
Ich bleibe einfach außerhalb der Clique
Und halte mich an meine Grenzen
Dann hänge ich mit meinen Freunden ab und es war toll
Wir gehen aus, aber nicht so spät und
Ich liebe es wirklich, will mich aber nie ändern
Aber manchmal kann ich nicht anders, als zu denken

Verpasse ich etwas, das ich nicht habe?
Denn ich möchte nicht aufgeben, gut zu sein, um schlecht zu sein!

Ich möchte nur einen Einblick in das Leben eines durchschnittlichen Teenager-Mädchens
Eine, die von außen aussieht, als hätte sie einfach alles

Ich weiß, dass es am Ende keine Rolle spielt
Aber manchmal fühle ich mich, als wäre ich außen vor und schaue zu
Ich bin glücklich, wo ich bin, also werde ich nicht zu laut werden
Aber manchmal frage ich mich, wie es wäre, ein bisschen sozialer zu sein

Ich versuche nicht, mich zu beschweren
Ich bin nur ein wenig neugierig, denn ich sehe die Bilder, sehe die Posts
Rücksichtslos, gemein, nicht einmal annähernd!
Denn warum sollte ich etwas sein, das ich nicht bin?
Ich sollte glücklich sein mit den Freunden, die ich habe!
Aber diese Gedanken kommen mir immer noch in den Sinn und
Ich kann nicht anders, als mich manchmal zu fragen

Verpasse ich etwas, das ich nicht habe?
Denn ich möchte nicht aufgeben, gut zu sein, um schlecht zu sein!

Aber ich wette, wenn ich dort wäre, wäre es mir egal
Ich würde tanzen, aber ich würde mich zurückhalten
