The sun is pale as dusk draws in today
Yellow leaves fall and flutter by my side
On this Ulambana eve
Life is fleeting, swept away so fast
Where does worldly karma lead?

This autumn I recall a past Ulambana
Oh Mother, your sad eyes brimming with love
