Up soared a black eagle,

Close to me, with a rustling of wings,
As if fallen from the heavens,
The bird came to perch,

Its eyes were the colour of rubies,
And its feathers the colour of night,
Upon its brow, shining with a thousand lights,
The crowned king of birds,
Wore a blue diamond,

With its beak, it touched my cheek,
Into my hand, it slipped its neck,
It was then that I recognised it,
Emerging from the past,
It had come back to me,

Tell me, bird, oh tell me, take me with you,
Let us return to the land of yesteryear,
As before, in my childhood dreams,
To pick with trembling hands,
Stars, stars,

Took flight to regain the sky,
