Und sie haben sich gefragt,
Was ist nur in jener Nacht wohl gescheh'n?

An Empty Boat

In the village by the sea, Sue and Peer lived.
But they were not allowed to see each other any more.
Their misery was caused by an old quarrel.
So they decided to leave.

They sailed out in his boat,
Because he had often told her
About the island world that exists.
An empty boat - that seemed their last resort.
There is no way back home
When you truly love.

When the news came, everybody looked at each other.
And the worry united them.
But it is too late. When night turns to day,
The new day does not bring them home.
