Som en mening, som en helhet
Som en tanke så oändligt vis
Alla arter har en uppgift
Alla männskor samma mål
Livets mening
Är att livet skall bestå

Får vi nånsin se en timma
Utan egoism och snålhet
Utan grymhet, utan dumhet här på jorden?
Eller finns det bara klokhet
Tolerans och äkta kärlek
Bortom bergen, på den andra siden floden?

I en grotta I min drömvärld
Bor en gammal visdomsman

Across the river, through the forest
Beyond the mountains lies a world
Where I travel when I feel
I'm disappointed in life here
There, the sun stands high in the sky
There, the air is clear and clean
There, life is as I wish it was

In that world lives a man
And nature in harmony
Nobody freezes, nobody starves
Nobody fears violence or war
Animals and plants are respected
Down to the smallest life on earth
Everything is connected
Everything has its place and time

In that world, one sees children
As the greatest wonder under the sky
As a flower that will grow out of its plant
They receive warmth, they receive closeness
They receive security, they receive love
So that one day they can give it to others

In that world, one sees life
In a divine perspective
As a meaning, as a whole
As a thought so infinitely wise
All species have a task
All people have the same goal
The meaning of life
Is that life should continue

Will we ever see an hour
Without selfishness and meanness
Without cruelty, without stupidity here on earth?
Or are there only wisdom
Tolerance and genuine love
Beyond the mountains, on the other side of the river?

In a cave in my dream world
Lives an old wise man
Many times I have asked
How to create a world in balance
But each time I ask
He always gives the same advice
One shall dig
One shall build where one stands
