I got home late last night about 8
There was nothing on the T.V. as usual
Just the normal repeats and things
I had the City Prices edition of the Evening Standard
Which was not as good as the Late Night one
Mainly because it doesn't have the full cinema listings
To be more specific it doesn't have the Fulham ABC
Which is my local
So I walked over to Battersea Park
Down by the Sri Chimnoy Mile
Past the Peace Pagoda
It's good
You can have a personal religious experience
And get healthy at the same time
Which obviously is important for a busy man like me
Well another moment in life's great adventure
It's no small wonder

I hope you weren't offended by what happened last night
It was the awkward hour
And I didn't know what to do
Whether ot come on or just leave it
To be honest I wasn't that interested
And I didn't think you were either
So I went back to my place
And you went back to yours
And I got into bed
And started reading a book
By a guy called Tobias Woolf
It's good it's short stories
Just before you sleep he'll take
You off to Burma... Mandalay
Places like that
I set the alarm clock ready for another day at work
Another day in life's great adventure
It's no small wonder

Kein kleines Wunder

Ich kam gestern Abend spät nach Hause, so gegen 8
Im Fernsehen lief wie üblich nichts
Nur die normalen Wiederholungen und so Zeug
Ich hatte die City-Preise-Ausgabe des Evening Standard
Die war nicht so gut wie die Spätausgabe
Hauptsächlich, weil sie nicht das komplette Kinoprogramm enthält
Genauer gesagt, das Fulham ABC fehlt
Das ist mein Stammkino
Also ging ich rüber zum Battersea Park
Runter bei der Sri Chinmoy Meile
Vorbei an der Friedenspagode
Das ist gut
Man kann eine persönliche religiöse Erfahrung machen
Und gleichzeitig gesund werden
Was für einen vielbeschäftigten Mann wie mich natürlich wichtig ist
Nun, ein weiterer Moment im großen Abenteuer des Lebens
Es ist kein kleines Wunder

Ich hoffe, du warst nicht beleidigt wegen dem, was letzte Nacht passiert ist
Es war die ungünstige Stunde
Und ich wusste nicht, was ich tun sollte
Ob ich auf dich zukommen oder es einfach lassen sollte
Um ehrlich zu sein, war ich nicht so interessiert
Und ich dachte, du warst es auch nicht
Also ging ich zurück zu mir
Und du gingst zurück zu dir
Und ich ging ins Bett
Und fing an, ein Buch zu lesen
Von einem Typen namens Tobias Wolff
Es ist gut, es sind Kurzgeschichten
Kurz bevor du einschläfst, nimmt er dich mit
Nach Burma... Mandalay
An Orte wie diese
Ich stellte den Wecker, bereit für einen weiteren Arbeitstag
Ein weiterer Tag im großen Abenteuer des Lebens
Es ist kein kleines Wunder
