Die Amerikaner weden immer dicker
Und das nicht ohne Grund.
Sie hören ständig in der Werbung, das Essen bei McDonald's
Wäre preiswert, lecker und gesund.

Und sie häng'n den ganzen Tag lang vor dem Fernseher,
Ist das Programm auch noch so mies,
Und interessieren sich für Paris Hilton,
Und damit mein' ich nicht etwa das Hilton in Paris.

Und dann ihre tollen Wirtschaftskonzepte,
Wie man den Umsatz in die Höhe treibt:
Und zwar erstmal massenweise Arbeiter entlassen,
Auch wenn die Firma schwarze Zahlen schreibt.

Und dann die ganzen hässlichen Grafittis,
Mit denen sie ihre Cities überziehen.
Und sie feiern groteske Feste,
Wie zum Beispiel Halloween.

Und ihre Sprache ist voller Anglizismen.
Denn auf Englisch hört sich einfach alles besser an, nicht wahr:
Beispielsweise "Geheime Staatspolizei"
Heißt in Amerika schlicht und einfach "NSA" oder "FBI".
Und auch ein Wort wie "CIA-Agent" klingt doch echt
Viel eleganter und charmanter als "Folterknecht".

Und dann die amerikanischen Schüler!
Laut PISA-Studie sind die ziemlich doof.
Deshalb schreiben da wohl auch alle den Genitiv
Vor dem "s" mit Apostroph.

Dafür sind sie in den vielen Computerspielen,
Wo man Leute totschießen muss, gar micht schlecht.
Manchmal spielen sie die auch an ihrer Schule nach.
Aber dann in echt.

So erwerben sie schon früh die Kompetenzen,
Die sie später brauchen als Soldaten
Auf der Suche nach Öl und Raum für ihr Volk
In irgendwelchen Schurkenstaaten.

Wenn wir uns all das, was die Amerikaner machen,
Einfach mal vor Augen führen,
Kann ich nur sagen: Gut, dass solche Sachen
Bei uns in Deutschland nicht passieren,
Bei uns in Deutschland nie passieren.

Denn sonst könnten wir die Amerikaner
Ja nicht so einfach kritisieren.

The Americans are getting fatter and fatter
And not without reason.
They constantly hear in commercials that the food at McDonald's
Is inexpensive, tasty and healthy.

And they hang around the TV all day long,
Even if the program is so bad,
And they are interested in Paris Hilton,
And by that I don't mean the Hilton in Paris.

And then their great economic concepts,
How to increase sales:
First, lay off a lot of workers,
Even if the company is in the black.

And then all the ugly graffiti,
With which they cover their cities.
And they celebrate grotesque festivals,
Like Halloween, for example.

And their language is full of Anglicisms.
Because everything simply sounds better in English, right:
For example, "Secret State Police"
In America, it's simply called "NSA" or "FBI".
And a word like "CIA agent" really sounds
Much more elegant and charming than "torturer".

And then the American students!
According to the PISA study, they are pretty dumb.
That's probably why they all write the genitive
Before the "s" with an apostrophe.

On the other hand, they are not bad in the many computer games,
Where you have to shoot people dead.
Sometimes they play them at their school too.
But then for real.

So they acquire early on the skills
That they later need as soldiers
In search of oil and space for their people
In some rogue states.

If we simply take all that the Americans do
And think about it for a second,
I can only say: Good thing such things
Don't happen in Germany,
Never happen in Germany.

Because otherwise, we couldn't
Criticize the Americans so easily.
