Mentes tuorum visita,
Imple superna gratia,
Quae tu creasti pectora.

Qui diceris Paraclitus,

Veni Creator Spiritus

Come, Holy Ghost, Creator, come,
And visit all the faithful's souls;
With grace divine thy hearts inspire,
Inflaming them with heavenly fire.

Our Advocate, whom God has sent,
The greatest gift of God most high,
The living Stream, the Fire, the Love,
The sacred unction from above.

Thy sevenfold gifts on us bestow,
The finger of God's right hand thou art;
Thou the Father's promise art,
And in our tongues thy speech impart.

Enlighten our senses, Holy Ghost,
Our hearts with thy love inflame;
Strengthen the weakness of our flesh,
And shield us 'gainst the tempter's shame.

Keep far our foes, give peace at hand,
That, guided by thy heavenly light,
We may with constant joy pursue
The path that leads to endless life.

Through thee may we the Father know,
And Jesus Christ, his only Son;
And thee, O Holy Ghost, the Third,
In whom all gifts of grace abound.

To God the Father, God the Son,
And God the Holy Ghost, we cry;
All glory through all time be given,
To thee, O glorious Trinity.
