Să ne alungăm teama am construit temple-ntregi,
Neguri pe lângă ziduri curg, umbre fără culori...
Umplut-am marile cărţi cu interdicţii şi legi

Ritualuri am inventat, îngenuncheaţi ne-am tot rugat
Aerului, pereţilor, să fim asiguraţi!
Frica vrem s-o stăpânim după ani întregi de chin,
Îngânând vreun psalm prea monoton, poate-o să fim vindecaţi...

Şi dacă asta-i tot?
Poate asta-i tot ce-avem
Şi ne pierdem preţiosul timp sperând să ne izbăvim...
Suntem oare-aşa funeşti
Să ne tot inventăm poveşti?
Ar trebui să recunoaștem deschis - nimic nu ştim.

Ne-am omorât fraţii pentru că altceva gândeau,
Am uitat complet de unde venim
Şi-acum ne credem altfel!

Am pus curioşii pe foc,
Pe diavol l-am învinuit pe loc
Când prea slabi am fost şi-am încălcat
Reguli scrise de noi...

Şi dacă asta-i tot?
Poate asta-i tot ce-avem
Şi ne pierdem preţiosul timp sperând să ne izbăvim...
Suntem oare-aşa funeşti
Să ne tot inventăm poveşti?
Să fim cinstiţi cu noi înşine - nimic nu ştim.

What If?

We build churches every day to keep away fear,
Walls fill with fog, and shadows appear.
We write out big books of rules and of bans,
And set our sights on some place beyond the clouds.

We come up with rituals and, down on our knees,
We pray to the air and the walls to appease.
For years, we have fought to find a way to get past fear,
Singing our psalms, and we will overcome, it will be clear.

But what if that's all it is?
Maybe that’s all we get
And we waste our precious time hoping for something better.
What if we are just meant to be
Always looking to the sky?
We should just admit that we don’t know.

We have killed our brothers and sisters for what they believed,
And we completely forgot where it is that we come from.
Now, we think that we are special!

We burned all the curious ones,
Blaming the devil for all that we have done,
Each time we were too weak and didn't follow,
The rules that we made for you.

But what if that's all it is?
Maybe that’s all we get
