El Comal le dijo a la Olla:
"Oye Olla, oye, oye!
Si te has creído que yo soy recargadera
Buscate a otro que te apoye".

Y la Olla se volvió hacia el primero:
"Peladote, majadero!
Es que estoy en el hervor de los frijoles
Y ni animas que deje para asté todo el brasero".

El Comal a la Olla le dijo:
"Cuando cruja, no arrempuje!
Con sus tiznes me ha estropeado ya de fijo
La elegancia que yo truje".

Y la Olla por poquito se desmaya:
"Presumido! vaya, vaya;
Lo trajeron de la plaza percudido
Y ni animas que diga que es galán de la pantalla".

El Comal le dijo a la Olla:
"No se arrime, fuchi, fuchi!
Se lo he dicho a mañana, tarde y noche
Y no hay modo que me escuche"

Más la otra replicó metiendo bulla:
"Ay rascuache, no me julla"!
Si lo agarro lo convierto en tepalcates
Y ni ánimas que grite pa'que venga la patrulla"

El Comal miro a su pareja:
"Que dijistes? Ya estás vieja!
Si no puedes con la sopa de quelites
Mucho menos con lentejas "

Y la Olla contestó como las bravas:
"Mire joven, puras habas!
Hace un siglo que te hizo el alfarero
Y ni animas que ocultes los cien años que se traga

The Griddle and the Pot

The griddle said to the pot:
"Hey Pot, hey, hey! I
I've had enough of being used as a footrest.
Find someone else to prop yourself on.

And the pot turned to the griddle:
"You ugly, stupid thing!
I'm boiling beans over here,
And you're not even offering to help with the fire.

The griddle said to the pot:
"When I sizzle, don't push me out of the way!
With your soot, you've already ruined my
Shiny new surface.

And the pot almost fainted:
"You conceited fool! Hahahaha!
They brought you here from the town square all dirty,
And you have the nerve to act like a movie star.

The griddle said to the pot:
"Don't get too close to me, you disgusting thing!
I've told you morning, noon, and night,
And you still won't listen to me.

But the pot replied, making a lot of noise:
"Oh, you creepy old man, leave me alone!"!
If I catch you, I'll smash you into a million pieces,
And you won't even have time to scream for the police.

The griddle looked at his companion:
"What did you say? You're just an old hag!
If you can't handle a simple soup,
You'll never be able to handle a pot of lentils.

And the pot replied like a fierce warrior:
"Listen up, young man, you're talking nonsense!
You were made by a potter centuries ago,
And you're trying to hide the fact that you're a hundred years old.
