J'ai envie d'vomir c'est affreux, tu m'as
Empoisonné, cinéma
Tarzan n'est pas pour les pauvres pythons
J'en ai mal jusqu'au bout des tétons.
Et la moralité
Du serpent dépité
C'est qu'parfois trop d'ciné parleur
Peut vous donner mal au cœur
Ou que les hommes digèrent, dit-on,
Mieux que les serpents pythons.

It's a python serpent, my dear,
A slithering python so clear,
Who wanders the forest so deep,
Searching for a creature to keep,
A cute little bunny so white,
Or maybe a man, dark as night.
For the python serpent is famished,
His hunger, it seems, is quite banished!
But creatures and people, they left yesterday,
Hired by the Metro Goldwyn Mayer,
To star in a Tarzan film so grand,
That will bring in riches across the land!
And the serpent, feeling quite low,
Is sad and bites his tail, you know,
For he understands, oh despair,
That he won't have a dinner to share.
Suddenly the forest awakes,
Equipment and cameras it takes,
For capturing sights and capturing sound,
It's the scene of great thrills all around.
They release the animals with a roar,
Lions and rhinos, and more,
Looking ferocious, it's true,
But they're gentle as puppies, it's true.
Our serpent from a branch up high,
Sees Mr. Johnny Weissmüller fly,
Playing around with an elephant friend,
What a lovely picture, that knows no end.
But all this cinema's delight,
Doesn't fill the stomach tight,
Of the poor serpent, who won't have a bite,
Not a single morsel, day or night.
When a subtle idea takes hold,
In the heart of the reptile, brave and bold,
Taking advantage of a rehearsal's break,
He advances with caution, no mistake.
In the twilight's shadow, he creeps along,
Moving forward, then back, all night long,
Then snatches a minuscule piece,
A piece of film, if you please,
That was sticking out of an iron box,
It was the grand scene from the Valley of Rocks,
Filmed in the morning in a diving bell,
To better see the swimmer excel.
And like a spaghetti strand so long,
The hungry python, with appetite strong,
Swallows two hundred meters, it's true,
Of Tarzan's adventures, through and through!
Then he goes away with joy,
Thinking: This is quite a ploy,
I'll sleep now for three whole weeks,
Digesting this film, with nary a squeak.
Crawling here and there with a slither,
He wraps himself, oh, what a dither,
Around a giant coconut tree,
But suddenly cries out: Woe is me...
I feel like vomiting, it's truly a mess, you've
Poisoned me, cinema, I confess,
Tarzan is not for poor pythons like me,
I feel sick right down to my toes, you see.
And the moral of the story,
From the serpent, feeling quite sorry,
Is that sometimes too much talkie show,
Can make your stomach hurt, you know,
Or that men digest, as they say,
Better than python serpents, hooray.
