You know, the seed of the song came because the chorus is saying
"Soon I will be done with the troubles of this world
Go home to live with God"

So I actually was, you know
Thinking about what I wanted to write to it and
I was on a flight in tour in Australia, and I was very tired
But I woke up in the middle of my sleep, and
And I just started thinking like if God was speaking to me, like
What would He be saying. And I also just started writing from
The perspective that God is talking to me, and it's like
"This is what your purpose is, this is what you were sent to do"

And I started off really in a way that has some biblical references, I say
"Heard the sound of the trumpets, the voice of the throne
Seen the 24 elders, and I knew I was home"

That was like a reference to Revelation in the Bible, and
"I was told to write the song for the people
Take the original Hebrews on an Exodus of Black Excellence
Tell 'em to invest in us and make testaments about each other
Or how we sisters and brothers
Covered the land and corners with poems and stones
Go hard with it, let 'em know you God with it, even though I authored it"

So this is God, He's, you know, saying, "This is what you should do
Before you get home, before you get, come back to me
This is what your purpose on earth is"
So that's the whole thing of what Home is

И я просто начал писать
от лица Бога, словно это Он обращается ко мне:
"Вот каково твоё предназначение, вот для чего ты был послан на эту землю".

И я начал с библейских аллюзий, говорю:
"Я слышал звучание труб, глас с небес,
видел двадцать четыре старца и понял, что я дома".

Это отсылка к Откровению Иоанна Богослова, и дальше:
"Мне было велено написать эту песню для людей,
возглавить исход чернокожих к совершенству,
сказать им, чтобы они вкладывали в нас и завещали друг другу,
ведь мы сёстры и братья,
покрывали землю стихами и камнями,
так действуйте же, дайте им знать, что вы с Богом, ведь это Он — ваш автор".

Это Бог говорит: "Вот что ты должен сделать,
