Voyage of Bran (demo version)

Bran walked alone to ease his mind,
To reflect on life and love.
Sweet music he heard come from behind,
And from the sky above.

So sweet was the tune that he fell asleep,
Then awoke with a terrible fright.
In the distance he heard a women weep,
Drew his sword and held it tight.

He saw on the ground a silver branch,
Adorned with small whit flowers.
He took the wand and returned to his home,
He was absent for many hours.

His royal friends were gathered there,
When a woman appeared in their midst.
She calmed the host and sung to Bran,
Of a land of beauty and myth.

"I brought you the branch of Emain,
As a token of my desire.
Journey forth to the land of women,
Of solitude they do tire."

"No slandering will you find there,
Nor treachery will you see.
I ask you now to plan and prepare,
For your voyage across the sea."

The fallowing day Bran sailed to the West,
With a host of men by his side.
Two days and night upon the sea,
Only the stars to act as their guide.

From out of the west a chariot came,
Bearing Manannan - son of Lir.
Bran learned that he will find glory and fame,
And the land he is seeking is near.

After some time they discovered the land,
A host of women stood on the shore.
Bran covered his face and raised a hand,
He was reluctant to go ashore.

The chief of women cast a single thread,
That pierced the hand of Bran.
Despite this act Bran felt no dread,
As his boat was pulled to shore.

His men paired off with the women there,
And Bran stayed with their chief.
The passage of time was hidden from them,
They believed their time was brief.

For what seemed like only just one year,
Was really centuries more.
They passed their time with joy and cheer,
As their journey became folklore.

A longing then came to all the men,
And they planned to return to their land.
The women were loath to let them go,
And issued the following command -

"Walk ye not on the land of Eirann,
To do so will bring your demise.
Go forth and quell your longing,
Then return to our western skies."

The men arrived at Eirann's shore,
And were greeted by a great host.
They heard of Bran from ancient lore,
And thought he no more than a ghost.

A soldier of bran then leapt ashore,
But instantly turned to dust.
Bran decided to leave once more,
To return to the women of lust!

Bran marchait seul pour apaiser son esprit,
Pour réfléchir à la vie et à l'amour.
Il entendit une douce musique venir de derrière,
Et du ciel au-dessus.

La mélodie était si douce qu'il s'endormit,
Puis se réveilla avec une peur terrible.
Au loin, il entendit une femme pleurer,
Il tira son épée et la tint serrée.

Il vit sur le sol une branche d'argent,
Ornée de petites fleurs blanches.
Il prit la baguette et retourna chez lui,
Il était absent pendant de nombreuses heures.

Ses amis royaux étaient rassemblés là,
Quand une femme apparut au milieu d'eux.
Elle calma l'hôte et chanta à Bran,
D'une terre de beauté et de mythe.

“Je t'ai apporté la branche d'Emain,
Comme un gage de mon désir.
Voyage vers la terre des femmes,
De la solitude, elles en sont fatiguées.”

“Tu n'y trouveras aucune calomnie,
Ni trahison tu ne verras.
Je te demande maintenant de planifier et de te préparer,
Pour ton voyage à travers la mer.”

Le lendemain, Bran fit voile vers l'Ouest,
Avec une foule d'hommes à ses côtés.
Deux jours et nuits sur la mer,
Seules les étoiles pour leur servir de guide.

Du fond de l'Ouest, un char apparut,
Portant Manannan - fils de Lir.
Bran apprit qu'il trouvera gloire et renommée,
Et la terre qu'il recherche est proche.

Après un certain temps, ils découvrirent la terre,
Une foule de femmes se tenait sur le rivage.
Bran se couvrit le visage et leva la main,
Il était réticent à aller à terre.

La chef des femmes lança un seul fil,
Qui perça la main de Bran.
Malgré cet acte, Bran ne ressentit aucune crainte,
Alors que son bateau était tiré à terre.

Ses hommes se sont mis en couple avec les femmes là-bas,
Et Bran est resté avec leur chef.
Le passage du temps leur était caché,
Ils croyaient que leur temps était bref.

Ce qui n'a semblé durer qu'un an,
Était en réalité des siècles de plus.
Ils ont passé leur temps avec joie et gaieté,
Alors que leur voyage est devenu folklore.

Un désir est alors venu à tous les hommes,
Et ils ont prévu de retourner dans leur pays.
Les femmes étaient réticentes à les laisser partir,
Et ont émis le commandement suivant -

“Ne marche pas sur la terre d'Eirann,
Le faire te causera ta perte.
Va et apaise ton désir,
Puis reviens à nos cieux occidentaux.”

Les hommes sont arrivés sur le rivage d'Eirann,
Et ont été accueillis par une grande foule.
Ils ont entendu parler de Bran dans les légendes anciennes,
Et ont pensé qu'il n'était plus qu'un fantôme.

Un soldat de Bran a ensuite sauté à terre,
Mais s'est instantanément transformé en poussière.
Bran a décidé de repartir,
Pour retourner aux femmes de luxure !
