Cichutko pyta mnie pastuszek
A skąd na wierzbie wziął się słoń?
Czas płynie, sława już mnie goni
I wieniec zdobi moja skroń
"Ach, to ten słynny malarz słoni"
"Co mu na dłoń nadepnął słoń"
Lecz nawet geniusz kiedyś minie
Skończone wszystko, podaj broń!
Maluję konia gdzieś w Londynie
Patrzę - a tutaj koń jak koń!

I Am an Unfortunate Painter

I am an unfortunate painter
Problems torment me all the time
Because no matter what I paint
An elephant comes out from under my brush!
I immortalize my aunt Mary
With no malice, God forbid!
Everything turned out great for me
But instead of my aunt, there is an elephant!
This portrait will bring me fame
The same eyes, smile, height
Uncle Czesiek, just as described
Except he has a trunk, not a nose!
With my easel, I travel across Poland
I paint willows, the depth of rivers
A shepherd asks me quietly
How did an elephant appear on the willow?
Time passes, fame is already chasing me
And a wreath adorns my temple
"Oh, it's that famous elephant painter"
"Whose hand was stepped on by an elephant"
But even genius eventually fades
Everything is over, hand me the gun!
