Lenço atado e meia espalda

Carcaça de puro cerne
Forjada em têmpera quapa
Com a rude estampa farrapa

Brincando de tercear ferro
Com chimango e pica-pau

I am a Maragato's heritage
The old caudilla race!
I have Farroupilha blood
Galloping through my veins
In the rushes of thirty-five
I rode the coxilhas
Tangled in the flexilhas
Plotting steel in battles

White bag chiripá
Tied scarf and half espalda
And a vicha that is indulged
In the tangled mane
