Er braucht Geld, er braucht die Kohle, er muss schießen für den Frieden.
Er schreibt Briefe für die Frau "Ich werd′ dich niemals mehr betrügen.
Jetzt ist klar, dass ich dich Liebe! Warte auf mich, mein Schatz,

Plötzlich Schüsse in der Nacht, dann wieder Stille - kein Schlaf.
Ein Bild von seiner Tochter, Tränen heilen die Angst.
Blauer Himmel, ganz in Schwarz. Er hört sie schießen und er fliegt.
Weg von all dem Chaos, das es für ihn nicht mehr gibt.

And he puts them down again, kisses them and goes.

His wife chokes on tears, his daughter calls after him.

Suddenly shots in the night, then silence again - no sleep.
A picture of his daughter, tears heal the fear.
Blue sky, all in black. He hears them shooting and he flies.
Away from all the chaos, that no longer exists for him.
He has the letter on his chest, he couldn't send it.
But now he is coming home with foreign blood on his hands.
But this calmness on the flight is driving him crazy.
He does not keep his promise, he comes back - without luck.
