It feels like I've finally arrived after an eternally long marathon
I used to sit there, playing "Country Roads" and Bob Marley songs
Today I'm riding the tour bus across the country
The little boy with the hoodie just didn't recognize me
I played for a handful of people, sometimes just one person
But even for one person, this shit was worth it
Rapped my problems away from my soul
And the fact that I'm making a living from it now is a nice side effect, but
I've seen music sometimes tear down entire fences
What a feeling when this record finally comes out
There's a lot of heart in it, so I'm inviting you today
Because you and my music, you could be friends
Because often you walk through the day embittered
Then you hear a song and stop thinking about it
And maybe I have just the right thing for you
