A lot of people always ask me
What my favorite song is I've ever been written and uhm
You know that's, that's really a hard question to answer but, uhm
If I had to pick three, this is definitely one of those three
It fully encompasses my childhood, uhm
Growing up in a small town
You know, swimming in the ditch when it rained because that was our pool
You know, just kind of conjured up a lot of memories of
Me and my brother growing up and uhm

I remember the first time I got the rough mix back from Howard Benson
Who produced our albums
Uh, first and, first through third album
My dad heard the song
I didn't tell him what it was about, I just, I just played it and he started crying
And it's never left my memory, uhm
Every time we play that song, it's the first thing that I think about
It makes it, uh, uhm, very near and dear to me

Viele Leute fragen mich immer,
was mein Lieblingslied ist, das ich je geschrieben habe, und ähm
Weißt du, das ist, das ist wirklich eine schwer zu beantwortende Frage, aber, ähm
Wenn ich drei auswählen müsste, wäre dieses definitiv eines dieser drei.
Es umfasst meine Kindheit vollständig, ähm
Aufwachsen in einer Kleinstadt.
Weißt du, im Graben schwimmen, wenn es regnete, weil das unser Pool war.
Weißt du, hat einfach irgendwie viele Erinnerungen heraufbeschworen an
mich und meinen Bruder, wie wir aufwuchsen und ähm

Ich erinnere mich, als ich das erste Mal den Rohmix von Howard Benson zurückbekam,
der unsere Alben produziert hat,
äh, das erste und, das erste bis dritte Album.
Mein Vater hörte das Lied.
Ich habe ihm nicht erzählt, worum es ging, ich habe es einfach, ich habe es einfach abgespielt und er fing an zu weinen.
Und das ist mir immer in Erinnerung geblieben, ähm
Jedes Mal, wenn wir das Lied spielen, ist das das Erste, woran ich denke.
Das macht es, äh, ähm, mir sehr lieb und teuer.
