I am not immune to this mess
You think it causes some stress
And you would be right
Here is an example of a real conversation
That I had with my mother just last night
I guess she's got a problem with the way
My wife and I have raised our kids
She wants to know how come we didn't
Raise them up the way that she and Dad did
And now your sister isn't married
Don't you think it's kinda scary
That she just goes out and parties every night
This is just another great example
Of the fact that she ain't livin' right
And your brother
He's just gotta get a job
How come he doesn't have a job
What's he gonna do?
Why didn't all my kids turn out just like you

Well, if you've got one, you know
Sometimes that's just the way that it goes
That's just the way it's got to be
Cause if you've got one, you're blessed
Even if it's just a terrible mess.
