Jedes Mal,
seh' ich 'nen Welpen an 'nem Sommertag,

das man Himmel nennt,

dichte Dickicht,
Schafe zählend,
Bis ich schlafe,
Wie ein Kind es tät'.

Mit einem riesengroßen Koffer voll
Bücher zum Lesen, wo es friedlich ist,
Während ich
Die Zeit totschlage,
Und faul bin.

Das Leben ist kurz
Und wird kürzer mit jedem Tag, der vergeht,
Und wie die Zeit doch fliegt!
Ehe man sich's versieht, ist's vorbei.
Deshalb bin ich
so eilig dabei, meine Sachen zu packen und zu fliegen
An einen Ort,
Wo es schön warm ist,
Und die Vöglein singen hören,
Während ich bin...
