I gaze upon Banat, Srem

I was born a seafarer, like Magellan

I lose my verve on the plain amidst the fields
A beached sea dog in the rye

My sea is gone
And I know not what to do
My old man says
That even the Danube's not bad

My sea is gone
But I live in hope
That perhaps somewhere
We shall yet meet

My life is therefore bitter as tonic
My sorrow's boundless, endless
But luckily, there's the moon, the beacon
It leads me through the azure waters of dreams
